DOMESTIC FLIGHTS

Domestic flights now in Vietnam are served by  Vietnam Airlines, Jetstar Pacific Airlines, Indochine Airlines and Viet Jet Air. The Indochine Airlines stops flying temporarily and Viet Jet Air is about to lauch the first flight in 2011.

Vietnam Airlines is mananged by the Government and operates most of domestic flights in Vietnam while Jetstar Pacific Airlines is Vietnam’s first value based carrier.  The carrier transitioned from Pacific Airlines to Jetstar Pacific in May 2008.   Jetstar Pacific is held 27 per cent by the Qantas Group and the remainder held by Vietnamese investors including Capital Investment Corporation (SCIC) as the largest shareholder, Saigon Tourist Company.

Jetstar Pacific operates an existing six aircraft fleet including 5 Boeing 737s and a single Airbus A320 to seven destinations across Vietnam (Hanoi, Hai Phong, Vinh, Danang, Hue, Nha Trang and Saigon).

Domestic airfare is quoted upon ticket class. However it has an average fare or fixed fare for the routes. Normally because of low cost carriers, Jetstar Pacific Airlines offer prices lower than Vietnam Airlines but sometimes you can get the better one by Vietnam Airlines as promotion package or promotion airfare which are lauched so often to promote domestic travel.

All of domestic airfares are included airport tax. You do not have to pay any extras. The e –ticket is replaced paper ticket and online ticket booking is availble now so it’s very easy and convenient to check schedule and book flight for your trip.
